A padayatra titled Walk Within has been organised by Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) in Dharwad and surrounding villages starting Saturday. It will conclude on December 31.
Addressing presspersons in Dharwad on Friday, North Karnataka Regional Head of SVYM Jayant K.S. said that the foot march will be led by founder of SVYM R. Balasubrahmanyam.
The objectives of the padayatra are raising environmental concern, self-reflection and community engagement.
The inaugural ceremony of the padayatra will held at DIMANS (Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences) auditorium on Saturday at 10 a.m. with cancer surgery specialist Vijayalakshmi Deshmane participating as guest.
Mr. Jayant said that experts from various fields, students and general public will take part in the padayatra covering 10 km on foot every day.
