The Anamalai police on Sunday (June 7, 2026) arrested four persons for alleged involvement in two housebreaks reported in the station’s jurisdiction.The arrested have been identified as P. Kodiswaramuthu (37), B. Gopi (22), A. Velmurugan (24) and K. Pechimuthu (31), all from Madurai district.According to the police, two housebreaks involving loss of four sovereigns of gold jewellery, 120 grams of silver articles and ₹40,000 were reported in the jurisdiction of the Anaimalai station.Special teams formed under Valparai Deputy Superintendent of Police S. Pavithra and Anamalai Inspector Sathiyaseelan launched an investigation. A special team intercepted the four men during a vehicle check at Alangadavu and identified them. The police arrested them and recovered the stolen articles and ₹25,000 from them. Tools used for housebreaks and a four-wheeler used for the commission of the offences were also seized.The police, during further investigation, found that the arrested persons had been involved in several other criminal cases.
