The D-Nagar police on Thursday arrested three residents of Ranipet in Tamil Nadu in connection with a house break-in case reported in Puducherry last month. Senior Superintendent of Police, Law and Order, R. Kalaivanan identified the accused as Sundar, Senthilkumar and Mohanavel, all three belonging to nearby areas of Arcot and Walajah in Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu. The trio has been accused of breaking into the house of a resident at Indira Nagar when the occupants were away and decamping with gold and cash. Following their arrest, the police recovered around 242 grams of gold jewellery valued at ₹35 lakh and ₹1.12 lakh in cash. The investigation team found the culprits based on scientific investigation, after scanning footages from large number of Closed Circuit Television cameras in Puducherry, Tindivanam, Arani and Arcot, Inspector D-Nagar T.
