LAMBUNAO, Iloilo — An incumbent barangay kagawad (village councilor) tagged by police as a high-value individual (HVI) was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pajo here on Saturday evening, June 6.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Elvis,” 31, a resident of Lambunao, was apprehended at 5:47 p.m. by operatives of the Lambunao Municipal Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office–Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) Team 2.
Seized during the operation were about 30 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth) with an estimated standard drug price of P204,000.
Police also recovered the marked buy-bust money and several non-drug items that will be used as evidence.
