The AAC candidate questioned why a state with vast economic resources still has large numbers of poor residents.

The African Action Congress (AAC) has unveiled Engineer Oluwadamola Adesoca Sol-Nuyi as its governorship candidate for Lagos State, with the politician promising to "take back Lagos for the people" and end what he described as governance that favours a privileged few at the expense of millions of residents.

Speaking during his official unveiling, Sol-Nuyi said his candidacy represented the beginning of a movement aimed at restoring public trust in government and ensuring that ordinary Lagosians benefit from the state's enormous economic resources.

The event was attended by AAC leaders, members of the National Working Committee, state executives, representatives of the Take It Back Movement and supporters, including the party's presidential candidate, activist and former National Chairman, Omoyele Sowore.

Addressing supporters, Sol-Nuyi argued that despite Lagos being Nigeria's economic hub and one of Africa's largest commercial centres, many residents continue to grapple with poverty, unemployment, poor infrastructure and inadequate social services.
