The Visakhapatnam Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gopinath Jatti on Saturday conducted a high-level virtual review meeting with the Superintendent of Police (SPs) of five districts in the range in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.Speaking to the SPs, the IGP asked them to expedite the cases related to crimes against women and the long pending ones. Speaking about the rising cybercrime cases, he asked the SPs to timely refund the money held as per court orders to the victims.The IGP also said that as part of ‘Sankalpam 2.0’, about ₹9.45 crore worth property belonging to 15 criminals involved in the illegal trafficking of marijuana were seized.Mr. Jatti also stressed the need to identify the properties of people involved in the illegal trafficking of marijuana and collect comprehensive information with the cooperation of the public.He said that 127 accused were proposed to be charged under the PIT NDPS Act and 39 were sent to jail. He also issued orders to organise awareness seminars, rallies and pledges are organised in villages and educational institutions to make the villages drug free.The IGP called upon every officer to work responsibly and be accessible to the public to resolve their issues.
