Days after beginning an inspection in Visakhapatnam-Ichchapuram section focusing on the ongoing infrastructure development, passenger amenities, and operational safety of the recently launched South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone, General Manager Sandeep Mathur conducted an inspection of the Visakhapatnam railway station on Saturday.During the visit, Mr. Mathur conducted a review of passenger facilities and the progress of various ongoing station improvement works. A key highlight of the inspection was a trolley evaluation of the station yard to assess the current layout and infrastructure.He discussed the proposed yard remodelling plan, emphasising the need for measures to enhance operational flexibility, increase train handling capacity, and ensure safer train operations. He also inspected critical passenger infrastructure, including Foot Over Bridges (FOBs), lifts, escalators, and drinking water facilities.The inspection was accompanied by senior railway officials, including Principal Chief Engineer B.S.K. Rajkumar, Principal Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer O.B. Suresh Kumar, Principal Chief Operations Manager Vineet Kumar, Principal Chief Commercial Manager K. Sambasiva Rao, Chief Administrative Officer Ankush Gupta, and Divisional Railway Manager (Visakhapatnam) Lalit Bohra, along with other senior officers from SCoR and the local division.
