The Kapuso family had an environmentally-conscious two days as they took part in the Kapuso ng Kalikasan Fair held at the GMA Network Center from June 4 to June 5 to celebrate World Environment Day, Philippine Environment Month, and GMA Network's 76th anniversary.
The triple event saw multiple government agencies, sustainable merchants, as well as different food merchants gather at the GMA Network Center to provide food, sustainable and environmentally responsible products, seedling distribution, and a chance to help out the country's farmers.
Two government agencies that participated in the fair was the Department of Agriculture - Bureau of Plant Industry and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources handed out free vegetable, medicinal, and fruit-bearing seedlings to employees. According to Jose Diego E. Roxas, senior agriculturist at the bureau, the activity is in line with the bureau's mission of encouraging tree planting, urban gardening, and educating people on food security and environmental conservation.
