Nigerian lecturer, Pelumi Folajimi
A Nigerian lecturer, Pelumi Folajimi, has presented his unpublished drama manuscript, Terrorists Upon Us, at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, United States.
The staged reading took place last Friday at the Students’ Union Building of the university.
In a statement, Folajimi said the play was written in the summer of 2024 to address the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group in Nigeria. He said the work condemns religious extremism, internal terrorism, political corruption and leadership failure, which he described as factors contributing to insecurity in the country.
