Residents of the Western and Eastern Cape should prepare for severe weather, including heavy rainfall and strong winds.
After days of disruptive rainfall, thunderstorms and flooding concerns across parts of South Africa, conditions are expected to calm slightly over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, although much of the country will remain cold, according to the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
Earlier in the week, SAWS issued an Orange Level 8 warning for disruptive rainfall in the Eastern Cape, along with warnings for severe thunderstorms and widespread rain across several provinces. While the heaviest rain is expected to ease by the weekend, chilly winter conditions are set to continue.
