Strong coastal winds and rain to batter Southern provinces on Monday.

South Africans can expect a chilly start to the new week as a cold weather system brings rain, showers and gusty conditions to parts of the country on Monday, July 27, 2026.

According to the South African Weather Service, most of the country will remain fine and cool, but conditions will turn partly cloudy and cold across southern regions.

Isolated to scattered rain and showers are expected along the southern coastline, stretching from the Western Cape through parts of the Eastern Cape and into southern KwaZulu-Natal.

Rainfall probabilities of 30% are forecast for parts of the south-western Cape, the southern interior around Beaufort West and Graaff-Reinet, and along sections of the Wild Coast and southern KwaZulu-Natal coast.
