Zero Stray Academy, Greece’s first institution offering free training programs on stray animal prevention and management, is inviting municipalities nationwide to enroll in its new program cycle.

More than 200 municipalities have already completed the academy’s training. Under a cooperation agreement with the Hellenic Police, over 2,500 frontline officers have been trained in animal protection, with that figure expected to exceed 3,500 by the end of 2026.

The five-week “Zero Stray Program” covers abandonment prevention, microchipping, sterilization, and enforcement of Law 4830/2021. The new cycle runs June 9-July 3. Registration closes June 8.
