The Democratic Alliance in eThekwini strongly opposes the municipality's proposed rebranding and new logo, despite assurances from the administration that the rollout would not incur any additional costs.
The municipality concluded its public engagements regarding the highly debated R2,8 million logo rebranding initiative in February 2026.
The municipality stated that the new logo would be implemented gradually over five years, as existing items and assets reach the end of their lifecycle and are replaced.
During Thursday’s council proceedings, DA councillor Samier Singh submitted a series of questions to the administration, seeking clarity on the financial implications, implementation process, and strategic rationale behind the proposed rebranding initiative.
