A Shallcross man is in critical condition after being shot nine times, allegedly by dealers after he tried to stop a drug shop from operating in the area.
The family of 43-year-old Muhammad Abdul Kadir is now calling for swift arrests as they live in fear.
According to a relative, who did not want to be named, the father of four was shot just metres outside his flat in Alpine Drive on Sunday at around 6pm.
“He had been outside speaking to some of the other residents from the flats, while his wife had gone to their neighbour's home. When Muhammad and the residents saw a group of known drug dealers approaching, they went back inside their flats. Muhammad tried to get to his house, which was just a few steps away. A few minutes later they heard gunshots right outside their door.
“From what we heard, when community members looked outside through their windows, Muhammad was on the ground - surrounded by six men with guns. One of the men had apparently pointed his gun at Muhammad's wife when she opened her neighbour's door to see what was happening.
