The United States Embassy in Abuja had warned American citizens in Nigeria to avoid protest locations, large gatherings and areas likely to witness security disruptions ahead of Thursday's demonstrations.

The warning came as security agencies deployed heavily armed personnel across strategic locations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the protest, leading to road closures, traffic congestion and restricted access to parts of the nation's capital.
In a security alert issued on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the U.S. Embassy informed its citizens that the Take It Back Movement had called for protests in Abuja and warned that significant security measures and disruptions could accompany the demonstrations.
