Sowore demanded the immediate rescue of all kidnapped pupils nationwide and called for accountability from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has announced a nationwide protest and school walkout scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026.

The action is in response to the continued captivity of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, as well as the persistent wave of school abductions across Nigeria.

Sowore demanded the immediate rescue of all kidnapped pupils nationwide and called for accountability from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a post on X on Monday, he revealed that the protest would be held under the banner of #OccupyAsoRock, with a central focus on the worsening insecurity threatening Nigerian schools.
