The special court for trial of cases under Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in Cuddalore on Wednesday convicted and sentenced four persons to life imprisonment for the murder of a 21-year-old man belonging to the Adi Dravidar community.Special Court Judge G. Saraswathi sentenced Balaji, 27, Kaviarasan, 26, Anand, 32 and Arunkumar, 25, of Keelapalaiyur to life imprisonment.According to prosecution, the deceased Arunpandian was consuming liquor with his friends at Keelapalaiyur near Srimushnam on March 24, 2019 when Balaji, Kaviarasan, Anand and Arunkumar murdered him following an altercation.The judge also slapped a fine of ₹2,000 each on the four persons.
