Schools across Cuddalore district reopened on Thursday for the new academic year 2026-27, with students receiving a warm welcome.Over 1,700 schools, including government, government aided, and private institutions, resumed classes after the summer break. In many schools, teachers and staff adorned entrances with flowers and decorative items.At the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Thiruppathiripuliyur, Housing and Urban Development Minister B. Rajkumar, inaugurated the distribution of textbooks and uniforms for students of government schools.He said distribution had begun for a total of 1,717 schools — 1,435 government schools and 282 government-aided schools catering to 2,05,532 students.
