Here’s what to do during the weekend of 5-7 June.

Parks and gardens are a treasured part of everyday life, offering a chance to enjoy nature, fragrances, and tranquillity. From June 5 to 7, Slovakia will once again participate in the popular international Weekend of Open Parks and Gardens festival.

Over 140 locations across the country—including historic cemeteries, arboretums, town squares, farms, and normally inaccessible sites—will open their gates to the public. The 18th edition of the festival carries the theme The Eyes of the Garden, reflecting the fact that eyes are one of the senses through which we perceive parks and gardens.

Most venues will offer free admission. Full details are available here.

With 30 locations just in Bratislava, here are some tips on what not to miss, picked by The Slovak Spectator’s Jana Liptáková.
