U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.2% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.1% in morning trading. Zealand Pharma added 5% and B&M European Value Retail climbed 4.6%. On the other hand, Nokia slipped 7.4%, and Universal Music Group lost 6.8%. The FTSE 100 was flat. Other stocks in Europe were up as France's CAC 40 increased 0.4% and Germany's DAX rose 0.3%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 96.08.
In commodities, Brent crude fell 1.1% to $96.69 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 0.8% to $95.24 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was up 0.1% to 48.92 euros a megawatt hour.
The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 1 basis point to 3.026% from 3.038%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 2 basis points to 4.482% from 4.5%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
