Olayemi Oyebanji, wife of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, on Wednesday ‘empowered’ women in the state with working tools such as wheelbarrows, grinding machines, coolers and other items.
A statement from the governor’s media office said the empowerment programme carried out in conjunction with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) and the Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was aimed at supporting petty traders and improving the livelihoods of widows and vulnerable people.
The items distributed included deep freezers, generators, sewing machines, grinding machines, hairdressing kits, wheelbarrows and agricultural inputs such as modern farm sprayers.
