Two men were arrested on the Saronic Gulf island of Agistri after allegedly pumping wastewater into a drainage channel that empties into the sea.
The suspects, a 61-year-old Greek national and a 45-year-old foreign national, were found at a construction site where authorities said they had installed a pump connected to a holding tank and were discharging a green-colored liquid into a nearby ditch leading to the coast.
A case has been filed against the two men for alleged violations of environmental protection legislation.
