Ahead of the reopening of the schools after the summer vacation, District Collector Anand Mohan inspected a few schools to understand if these institutions are really well prepared to receive the students and the environment prevailing on the school premises is safe for the children.During an informal chat with the reporters after inspecting the Kallanai Corporation Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Tirunelveli Town and MDT Hindu College Higher Secondary School in Tirunelveli Junction, Mr. Anand Mohan said meetings with the heads of all educational institutions and the heads of local bodies were organised recently to give them clear instructions on keeping the school premises clean and safe for the students returning to their schools after the month-long summer vacation.Tanks supplying drinking water to the students, toilets, furniture etc. were scrutinised during the inspection. Students would receive their textbooks and the uniforms on the first day (on Thursday).“The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation officials have been told to operate sufficient number of buses with utmost punctuality in the routes being used by large number of students to reach their schools,” Mr. Anand Mohan said.Chief Educational Officer M.
