Eight passengers travelling in a private contract bus sustained injuries when the vehicle capsized near Nannilam on Tuesday.According to sources, the accident took place at Thenkudi when the bus heading to Chennai from Vedaranyam fell aside a canal abutting the carriageway as the bus driver tried to avoid colliding with a goods carrier coming in the opposite direction.The injured persons were rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital at Tiruvarur where they were admitted as inpatients.
