South African Tourism CEO Nombulelo Guliwe continues to receive her salary while under precautionary suspension.
CEO of South African Tourism, Nombulelo Guliwe, has pocketed R2.3 million in salary and benefits since she was placed on precautionary suspension from August last year to date.
Responding to parliamentary questions from DA MP Haseena Ismail on Tuesday, Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille confirmed that Guliwe continued to receive her salary.
“This is in line with the conditions of her employment and the South African Labour Relations Act, which states that precautionary suspension is a temporary, non-punitive measure used during investigations.
“Employees, therefore, have the right to full pay and benefits throughout the process,” she said.
