Suspended police officer Fannie Nkosi’s legal team has urged the Pretoria High Court to set aside a bail refusal, arguing that strict bail conditions were not properly considered and that the state’s case relies on speculation.

The Pretoria High Court is expected to hand down its ruling on Wednesday in the bail appeal of suspended organised crime officer Sergeant Fannie Nkosi.

Nkosi is seeking to overturn the Pretoria North Magistrate's Court's earlier decision denying him bail.

Nkosi, 42, faces serious charges, including defeating the ends of justice, possession of illegal ammunition and explosives, and theft.

At the centre of the state's argument is money investigators allegedly discovered during a raid at Nkosi's Pretoria home.
