The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) has unveiled its draft pricing decision for the upcoming regulatory period, proposing higher electricity and heating costs for households starting July 1, 2026. Under the regulator’s calculations, household electricity prices are expected to rise by an average of 2.99%, while heating prices are projected to increase by 4.58%.
The planned electricity adjustment varies depending on the supplier. Customers of Electrohold Sales would see their bills increase by 3.11%, while subscribers of EVN Bulgaria Elektrosnabdyavane would face a 3.24% rise. For clients of ENERGO-PRO Sales, the proposed increase is lower at 2.38%. The steepest adjustment is expected for customers of ESP Zlatni Pyasatsi, where electricity prices are set to climb by 5.80%.
For district heating users, the regulator has proposed an average increase of 4.58% for the period between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. The highest increase is foreseen for Toplofikatsiya Pleven at 5.54%, followed closely by Toplofikatsiya Sofia at 5.50%. Other proposed adjustments include 5.19% for Veolia Energy Varna and 5.18% for Toplofikatsiya Sliven. For households served by Toplofikatsiya Sofia, the price of heat energy would rise from 69.48 euros per megawatt-hour to 73.30 euros per megawatt-hour.
