OSOGBO— THE Osun State government, yesterday, summoned an emergency meeting over rising security threats facing schools in parts of the state.
The development follows renewed demands by the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, in the state for improved security in schools located in remote and border communities adjoining neighbouring states.
It also followed the mass demonstrations held earlier yesterday in Ibadan and Ogbomoso over the plight of the abducted victims.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the chairman of the NUT in Osun State, Babalola Babatunde, said the Commissioner for Education, Dipo Eluwole, fixed the meeting yesterday after consultations with the union.
