Saliu warned that residents may be forced to embark on sustained civic action if authorities fail to act.

The African Action Congress (AAC) candidate for the Yagba East State Constituency seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Ishaq Saliu, has raised alarm over the worsening security situation and deteriorating road infrastructure in Yagba.

Saliu warned that residents may be forced to embark on sustained civic action if authorities fail to act.

In a statement issued on Monday, June 1, 2026, following the latest kidnapping incident in the area, Saliu expressed concern over the growing insecurity in Yagba, saying the situation had become a serious threat to the lives and livelihoods of residents.

According to him, the poor condition of roads across the area has compounded the security challenges, making movement difficult, slowing economic activities and exposing residents to greater danger.
