According to the group, the father and son had been contracted to paint a residential building and had completed the assignment before leaving the premises.

The Take It Back (TIB) Movement has accused officers at Area P Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos State of unlawfully detaining a West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) candidate and his father over an alleged theft of electrical wires, despite what it described as a lack of evidence linking them to the crime.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Lagos State Coordinator of the movement, Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek, popularly known as Scotty Aluta, described the incident as a disturbing case of abuse of power and a violation of the rights of the detained individuals.

According to the group, the father and son had been contracted to paint a residential building and had completed the assignment before leaving the premises.

The movement said that unknown persons later gained access to the property and allegedly stole electrical wires from the building.
