The Belthangady police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old resident of Perne in Bantwal taluk, on Monday.The police identified the accused as Yashodhar, 35, Mohan,30, and Ibrahim, 54.In a press note, the police said 34-year-old Nitin received a photo of an unidentified body found in Guruvayanakere on Monday.After identifying the photo to be that of his brother Yatish, 33, Nitin came to the spot and checked CCTV camera footage. He found that the three accused persons assaulted Yatish on June 1 morning, which resulted in his death.The police registered a case under Sections 103 (murder), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 3(5) (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of Bharaitya Nyaya Sanhita and arrested the three accused persons.DrownedA 16-year-old boy drowned in Sunkadagundi stream in Shiroor of Byndoor taluk of Udupi on Monday.The Byndoor police gave the name of the deceased as Ayush, 16, a resident of Haveri.The police said Ayush was among a group of seven family members who were on a tour from Murudeshwar to Kanniyakumari. The family members stopped their vehicle near the Sunkadagundi stream and were preparing lunch.Ayush and another boy entered the stream for a bath. Ayush was caught in the current. The other boy swam to the shore and alerted family members.The family members called the police. After an hour-long search, the body of Ayush was recovered, the police said.
