The body of a 16-year-old boy who drowned in the Cauvery at Mukkombu in the district on Sunday was retrieved on Monday.The police gave the name of the minor as Z. Mohamed of Kambarasampettai. The boy had completed Class X in a government school here. Police said the boy along with three of his friends went to Mukkombu on Sunday and entered the river when he drowned. Following this, a search was launched in the river but the boy could not be traced.The fire fighters retrieved the body on Monday and shifted it to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital here for autopsy.
