REVIEW: It’s the finale of another season, and they really have saved the best till last this week: a tremendously difficult site, a charming couple, some engineering feats of derring-do and spectacular views.
This week we’re in Queenstown, where couple Hans and Susie Raetz are building their forever home on the side of a mountain overlooking Lake Wakatipu.
Originally from Germany, Hans met Kiwi Susie in Queenstown. They now work together at a medical practice, and live at Susie’s childhood home, which they bought and renovated together.
Hans makes Susie laugh a lot.
“People think he’s a gruff person,” Susie says, dismissing the idea. “He doesn’t hold back with what he thinks, and I really like that about him.”
