A head constable, who was arrested in connection with a POCSO Act case, has been dismissed from service on the orders of Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A. Amalraj.The police said Velappan, who was attached to the Crime Wing of Vadapalani Police Station, was booked by the Ashok Nagar All Women Police Station for sexually assaulting a minor boy after forcibly feeding him liquor.Under custodyFollowing the registration of the case, the head constable was arrested on May 28 and remanded in judicial custody.Subsequently, acting under Article 311 of the Constitution of India, Mr. Amalraj ordered the dismissal of Velappan from service.
