The Kudavasal police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Thirumurugan of Sengalipuram on May 29.According to the police, the crime was committed on the night of May 29 when a six- member gang entered the house of the victim at MGR Nagar, Sengalipuram, and allegedly attacked him with lethal weapons in front of his family.While Thirumurugan died on the spot, his wife Kavitha was injured. Their son Suman and daughter Priya were spared by the gang. After the gang left the scene of crime, neighbours rushed Kavitha to a hospital from where she was referred to the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital.On hearing about the crime, the Kudavasal police rushed to the spot and moved Thirumurugan’s body to the Government Medical College and Hospital at Tiruvarur for postmortem.Subsequent investigation by the police led to the arrest of – Raja, Kanmani, and Manikandan of Vadakandam and search is on for three more persons reportedly involved in the murder, the police said.
