Residents and concerned citizens under the umbrella of the Take-It-Back Movement in Oyo State on Friday staged a protest over the worsening insecurity and rising cases of kidnapping across the state, demanding the immediate rescue of abducted schoolchildren and teachers kidnapped by gunmen in Oriire Local Government Area.

In videos and pictures obtained by SaharaReporters, the protesters were seen carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs while calling on the government and security agencies to act swiftly.

“Bring back our children, bring back teachers,” the protesters repeatedly chanted in one of the videos seen by SaharaReporters.

Some of the flyers displayed during the protest carried inscriptions such as: “No Teachers, No Nation, Save Nigerian Teachers and Pupils.”
