The faction on Friday conducted separate governorship primaries across the 21 local government areas of the state, resulting in the emergence of Caleb Andrew as its candidate.

The internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has worsened after a faction loyal to former Minister Tanimu Turaki produced a parallel governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.

The faction on Friday conducted separate governorship primaries across the 21 local government areas of the state, resulting in the emergence of Caleb Andrew as its candidate.

The development comes barely days after Maurice Vunobolki, who is aligned with the Nyesom Wike-backed bloc within the PDP, was affirmed on Sunday as the party’s governorship candidate by another faction.
