A mother has filed a complaint with police in the Thessaloniki area, alleging that staff at a day care center for people with disabilities left her minor daughter inside a minibus for about two hours.

Police said the 52-year-old woman went to the Thermaikos Crimes Investigation Department on Thursday evening, reporting employees of a daytime care facility in eastern Thessaloniki. She alleges they failed to ensure the child was removed from the vehicle used for transport as part of the center’s operations.

The girl had been picked up from her home and boarded the minibus but remained inside the parked vehicle for roughly two hours without being transferred to her destination.

Authorities said an investigation is underway.
