ABUJA — The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, to strengthen enforcement of environmental and traffic regulations in Abuja, particularly against cattle roaming on major roads and public spaces within the city.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, the group expressed concern over the increasing presence of cattle on highways and busy traffic corridors in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, warning that the development poses safety and environmental risks.

HURIWA said Abuja, as the nation’s capital, should reflect orderliness, proper urban management and strict compliance with regulations guiding public safety and sanitation.
