Residents of Chikakore in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, have raised alarm over the worsening condition of the Bwari-Kubwa road, accusing the government and contractors of abandoning the project while shifting focus to political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
The residents specifically identified SCC Company as the contractor handling the road project, alleging that work has slowed drastically due to lack of funding from the government.
In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, an executive in the area described the road as being in its worst condition since construction began, warning that the situation could become disastrous when the rainy season intensifies.
“We can see this road now. I just came this morning so that I can have video footage of this road. Since we have been using this Chikakore road, it has never been this bad,” the resident said while filming the damaged portions of the road.
