Greece’s nationwide university entrance exams begin Friday for high school students competing for 68,788 university places for the 2026-27 academic year, starting with a Modern Greek language and literature test.
The exams, which largely determine university admission, are a particularly stressful period for Greek teenagers. Authorities said a free psychological support hotline, 1550, staffed by psychologists, will operate through June 30 for pupils and their families.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, books, notes, correction fluid and calculators are prohibited inside the exam room. Possession of a mobile phone, even switched off, results in automatic disqualification.
