The Western Cape braces for isolated rain while the Interior enjoys dry conditions.
South Africans can expect a largely calm and dry Thursday as stable weather conditions dominate much of the country. Most provinces will enjoy cool to warm temperatures with clear to partly cloudy skies, while only a few coastal regions in the south are likely to see isolated rainfall.
The Western Cape will be the main focus for wet weather. Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected to develop during the day, with isolated showers and rain reaching the south-western parts from the afternoon.
Rain chances here are around 30%, especially near Cape Town and surrounding coastal areas. Cool conditions will persist across the province, accompanied by fresh to strong winds along the south-west coast.
Along parts of the Eastern Cape coastline, light rain is also expected later in the day and into the evening. Rain chances remain low at around 30%, mainly affecting the eastern coastal belt and adjacent interior south of the escarpment.
