A chartered accountant and Chairman of Treal Hotels and Suites, Mr Adebayo Fagbenro, has described tourism, culture, and the hospitality industry as viable sources of revenue capable of boosting Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
Fagbenro made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday by DAL Strategic Communication ahead of the inauguration of Treal Hotels and Suites in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He said Ogun State is richly endowed with tourism potential and cultural heritage sites that could attract both local and international visitors if properly developed.
He stated, “The era of overdependence on oil revenue is gradually fading. Tourism and hospitality remain viable sectors capable of creating jobs, stimulating economic growth, and improving the nation’s revenue base. Government must begin to see the sector as a strategic economic driver.”
Fagbenro said the establishment of the hotel was inspired by years of global exposure and a desire to contribute to national development after spending decades abroad.
