ABUJA: Stakeholders in Africa’s hospitality and tourism sector have called for increased investment, better infrastructure, policy alignment and stronger regional collaboration to harness the continent’s tourism potential and drive sustainable economic growth.

The call was the main focus of discussions at the 9th International Hospitality and Tourism Expo and Forum, IHTEF 9.0, themed The Sustainability Summit – Africa, which opened in Abuja yesterday.

The Executive Director of the International Hospitality Tourism and Economic Sustainability Forum, IHTEF, Engr. Chibuike Diala, said in his opening remarks that the sector had moved beyond basic service delivery to become a key driver of economic growth.
