ILOILO CITY — Several areas in Western Visayas continued to experience dangerous heat index levels on Tuesday, May 27, with forecasts showing high temperatures lingering until at least Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Based on Pagasa’s 5 p.m. heat index bulletin issued Tuesday, Roxas City in Capiz logged a heat index of 43 degrees Celsius, placing it under the “danger” category, where prolonged exposure to the sun may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke.
Iloilo City and Dumangas, Iloilo both recorded a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius, also under the “danger” level.
