Man dead after fall from North York apartment building during police call, SIU investigating

Ontario’s police watchdog has launched an investigation into the death of a 34-year-old man who died after falling from an apartment building in North York on Monday night.According to the Special Investigations Unit, Toronto police officers arrived at an apartment complex near York Gate Boulevard and Jane Street Monday evening in search of a wanted man.Officers located the man inside a unit, spoke with him at the door, and informed him that he was under arrest, the SIU wrote. The man then closed the door and retreated into the apartment.
