Sadly a man, who has not been formerly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.Reports suggest the Maldron Hotel was evacuated shortly before multiple emergency vehicles and forensic officers were pictured at the scene while a blue forensic tent was put up in the street outside of the Maldron hotel. Police are treating the man's death as unexplained and are continuing with their enquiries.Armed officers were seen patrolling the nearby streets in the hours after the tragic incident as the force continues with its investigation into the tragic death.A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 4pm today (Saturday 23 May 2026), we were called to reports that a man had fallen from a building on Charles Street in the city centre.“Sadly, a deceased man was found at the scene.
