Ontario’s police watchdog says it’s investigating a fatal police shooting in Mississauga on Thursday morning.
Toronto police were conducting an investigation in the area of Council Ring Road and The Collegeway at 12:22 a.m. when the incident occurred, according to an X post by Peel police.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU), confirmed there was a fatality in a post to X.
According Peel police, one man has life threatening injuries and another was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Peel police did not answer The Star’s questions about how the men were injured.
A Toronto police officer was also transported to hospital with minor injuries due to a collision.
