MANILA, Philippines — Substandard cellphones and mobile accessories worth over P6.4 million were seized for violation of consumer laws in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, said the Philippine National Police- Crime Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) on Tuesday.

According to the CIDG, 370 units of alleged substandard assorted cellphones and mobile phone accessories estimated to be worth P6,431,406 were seized during two simultaneous operations in two stores in Dagupan City on May 22.

Both operations also resulted in the arrest of two women who were caught selling the cellphones and accessories categorized by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) as “Not Type-Approved/Accepted.”
