MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP–CIDG) on Tuesday said it arrested two women in Makati City for an alleged illegal recruitment scheme.
In a statement, the CIDG said it apprehended the two suspects, whom it did not immediately identify, last Friday morning along General Luna Street.
The police explained that the two women allegedly recruited 18 individuals applying to be yacht cleaners, stewards, and housekeepers in the United Arab Emirates, supposedly for a P45,000 to P75,000 monthly salary, and asked for processing fees from P19,000 to P100,000.
